About Uniko

Uniko is a pop-up concept restaurant based in NYC and designed for lovers of uni, or sea urchin. Co-founded by Chef Francis Maling, Uniko is a ticket-based monthly event series hosted by rotating venues and features an omakase-style, multi-course menu highlighting uni as a central component of each dish.

Chef Maling graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, and worked as a chef for KitchenSurfing, Pearl and Ash and Greenpoint Fish and Lobster Co. Hailing from the Philippines, Chef Maling introduces Filipino flavors to his cuisine ("Uni ko" means "my uni" in Tagalog), along with inspiration from the diverse tastes found in his current hometown in Queens, NY.
